The English word "rapture" comes from the Latin word rapio. In the Latin Bible the word rapio is used in I Thes. 4:16, 17. In the English Bible the phrase is "caught up." The English word "rapture" is not in the Bible. The phrase "caught up" is in the Bible, which is what rapture means. Please read I Thes. 4:13-18. Who will be caught up? Note that the church is not in these chapters because Christ will have caught up the believers in the church.
